Jill Hooper, Principal
Dear Mountain View Families,
I want to tell you it is truly my honor and privilege to be the principal of Mountain View Elementary. I enjoy working with the very talented and dedicated staff here at MVE. It is also amazing to be a part of such a caring and involved parent community that takes the growth and development of our children to heart. Thank you for sharing your children with us each day.
I will share a little bit of my background. I have over 25 years’ experience in the field of education. I have a bachelor’s degree in special education from Auburn University and my master’s degree from the University of Florida. My administrative credential is from the University of Denver.
Prior to accepting the position at Mountain View, I worked for 11 years in Harrison School District #2 as a special education supervisor and an assistant principal in two elementary schools. Previous to that I administered a program for middle and high school students expelled from school across the Pikes Peak Region. In addition, I also supported transition services for high school students with disabilities through the School to Work Alliance Program (SWAP). In addition I taught in the field of special education in Florida for 8 years.
My variety of experiences have continued to solidify my commitment to seeing each child grow and develop academically, socially and emotionally in order that they can leave an extraordinary legacy to their community, nation and the world.
I am the proud parent of Victoria, a third grade student at Frontier Elementary. In our free time we enjoy camping, swimming and sports at the YMCA.
